I began training in Mediumship during COVID, as just an 'observer' on Zoom circles. Happily, I was thrown into the deep end and found my calling. Having read for clients (sitters) for many years now, my true passion is in training Mediumship, Psychic, Tarot, Energy Healing others and identifying their niche. There can never be too many of us being a Service to Spirit. So, The Pellow Academy was born. The name's origin comes from all the rescued birds we've had since my boys were little... turtle doves, kingfishers, native crested pigeons, budgies... the list goes on but all their names are 'Pellow', by my sons' design.

Working with the community, I have held workshops in Tasmania, Chicago and Kuala Lumpur, focusing on teaching how to create works without self-criticism , a kind of art therapy to open up the ability to use art as another form of personal expression. In Chicago, I worked with disadvantaged kids in the Southside, helping them realise a work which was then displayed in an exhibition. I have previously owned a gallery in Northern Tasmania called McCarthyism where I held residencies, shows and exhibitions for Don College, Devonport (Senior College students) and now co-direct a moving gallery which supports artists and holds exhibitions and music events. I’ve been honoured with grants from Arts Tasmania to take my work to Chicago and KL, as well as receiving support for my workshops at Salamanca Place in the studios there. I have also worked at both regional and commercial galleries, at which I curated group and solo shows, as well as artist retrospectives. I use the medium in its own right, enjoying the process of applying the medium as a meditative state. In this way I avoid perspective and logic and tap into the core of memories for the viewer. I have an extensive knowledge of art theory and all art mediums, having worked in art supplies in Melbourne and Geelong, where I also had the opportunity to make paints, clays, print mediums and print production. I have also worked with animation, film, sculpture, printing, life drawing, textiles, all paint mediums including collage and more. Music is also large in my career, with lead vocals, arrangement, rhythm guitar and synth for Meanjin band, The Worm Turns. |
